Jorge Wiesse-Rebagliati is Professor at Universidad del Pacífico and former Head of the Humanities Department, affiliate of the School of Business Sciences. He holds a BA degree in Linguistics and Literature with a minor in Hispanic Literature from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú and a Master's degree in Hispanic and Hispanic American Literatures from Madrid's UNED. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation on Riva-Agüero's Paisajes peruanos in Pamplona's Universidad de Navarra. His poems, articles, and contributions have appeared in magazines in Peru and abroad. He has lectured and written extensively on Riva-Agüero's travel book and edited volume on the subject that was sponsored by the Sociedad Geográfica de Lima and the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He also has extensive experience as a professor in charge of Language and Literature courses and has held several administrative positions at Universidad del Pacífico. His work on the artistic reception of Dante Alighieri was recognized in 2018, when he won the Flaiano Prize on Italian Studies, an international award given by Italy's Foreign Ministry, the Fondazione Ennio Flaiano and the Fondazione Gabrielle D'Annunzio.
